PASTOR ALFRED RASIGNTON CORBETT was born on the island of Streachams, Montserrat, British West Indies on June 28, 1935 to Grace Allen and Samuel Peter Corbett. He attended Saint Georges School in Harris Village.

 At a very young age he became a born again Christian and continued to serve God until his death. While in Montserrat, he worked for their Courthouse and the Board of Education.  Pastor Corbett migrated to St. Thomas, USVI in 1961.  There he worked at the Yacht Haven Hotel and the Virgin Islands Hotel.  He relocated to New York in the early 1970’s and began working for Thom McAn and Heidi Shoe Stores.  His journey would later take him to Connecticut for a short while before making Florida his final home in 1984.  While in New York, he became a member of the Holy Life Apostolic Faith Church and later opened his own Pentecostal ministry in New Rochelle, NY. 

Pastor Corbett was an employee of Disney’s Epcot Center and there he stayed until his retirement in 1999.  He was Founder and Pastor of the Upper Room Pentecostal Church and later became a member of International Harvest Church of God in 2008. There he taught Sunday school, served as an active member of the men’s fellowship, and was Lead for the Care Pastor Ministry.  As a humanitarian, he also worked at the food bank and delivered food to the needy.  He visited the sick in the hospitals, nursing homes, and home-bound families.  He even volunteered his services with Health Central Hospital Rehabilitation Facility.

Pastor Corbett holds a Doctorate of Divinity in Theological Studies. He was very talented and loved to sing and play his guitar.  He loved the Lord with all his might and drew other to him with his caring spirit.  He was kind, compassionate, and endeared himself to everyone he met. He was loved by adults and children alike. May his soul rest in peace.

 

Pastor Corbett leaves to morn his loving wife of 16 years; Joan Kelly-Corbett; five children; Jenita D. Martin, Vida M. Chittick, Grace L. Corbett-Creighton (Dante), Alvin R. Corbett, and Hermon L. Wheatley-Corbett; four grandchildren; Da’Vyda T. Edwards, Quentyn T. Wheatley-Corbett, Tyleselah R. Sitaram, and Jaedyn L. Wheatley-Corbett; and one sister Elizabeth and a host of other relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents Grace Allen and Samuel Peter Corbett; three brothers; James, Peter, and Joseph; and four sisters; Sarah, Catherine, Mary, and Bridget.
