Willie Lewis Obituary

Mr. Willie Charles Lewis was born on October 2, 1956, in Bainbridge, Georgia, to Willie Lewis Jr and Mary Frances Freeman. He was the firstborn of 11 children.

 

 

Mr. Lewis later moved to Orlando, Florida in the early 60's; then he later moved to Winter Park, Florida in the late 70's, where people affectionately knew him as Sweet Charles. Sweet Charles has traveled all over the United States he was well known for his fancy suits, hats and Cadillacs. He worked for Skolfield Homes of Winter Park for many years where he did many handyman jobs as well as lawn maintenance. He enjoyed scrapping and collecting treasures in his eyes that other people considered junk. He loved listening to music, watching movies, and fixing bikes. One thing he loved most was spoiling his nieces and nephews with his found treasures.

He was preceded in death by his grandmothers: Hager Williams and Frances Harris; Stepfather: Frank Freeman, Sr.; Brother: Frank Freeman, Jr; Sisters: Little Hagar Williams and Frankie Pearl Malone; Uncles: Charlie Lewis, Horace Lewis and Leroy Williams; Brothers-in-law: Booker Bell, Jr. and Jessie Daniels, Jr.

 

 

Charles leaves to cherish and hold dear loving memories, his beloved Mother Mary Freeman of Winter Park, FL; Father: Willie Lewis Jr. (Lucille) Attapulgus, GA; Daughter: Charlene Brown Atlanta, GA; Son: Willie J. Lewis (Shantell) Orlando, FL;

Brothers: Willie L. Lewis (Kathy) Tallahassee, FL; Eddie Lewis (Alisa) Atlanta, GA; Terry Lewis (Yolanda) Attapulgus, GA; and Kelso Freeman Winter Park, FL; 

Sisters: Mary Daniels Maitland, FL, Anita Green Quincy, FL and Rona Bell Orlando, FL; Grandchildren: DaVonte Brown Atlanta, GA, Kyajahia Lewis Winter Park, FL, Willie Lewis Jr, Rockledge, FL, Mataya Lewis and Maerisa Murphy both of Orlando, FL;

Great-grandchild: Braxton Brown Atlanta, GA 

Nieces: Cynthia Lewis, Frankeisha Freeman, Anali Bell all of Orlando, FL, and Tiffany Daniels Maitland, FL, Nephew Aiden Richardson Orlando, FL
