Tony Mickens was born January 26, 1947 in Sumter, South
Carolina to Bubba Moore and Rosa Ford Mickens. Tony relocated
to Central Florida in the 60’s, where he met his wife Shirley. The
two had one daughter, LeTonya. Tony retired from construction
after working over 30 years in the business. He enjoyed gardening,
cooking, and his family.
Tony was preceded in death by his wife, the late Shirley Lee Nevins
Mickens, sisters, Juanita Jordan and Earline Hough, and brother
Howard Tubby Mickens.
He is survived by: his daughter, Le’Tonya Mickens (Paul); special
niece, Melodie Brown (Robert) Flowers; special nephew, David
Brown; grandchildren, LaChavious Clark, Derrick Bubba (Emma)
Clark, JaShard Jackson, Kimora Rutland, and Paige Glover;
great-grandchildren, Jordan Clark, Cayden Jackson, and Jael
Monroe; brothers, Bert Kenely, John (Donna) Mickens, and Ricky
(Charlene) Brand; sister, Sammie Mae (George) Toney; and a host
of nieces, nephews, cousins, other sorrowing family, and friends.
