Susan Sandmann

Susan Marie Sandmann, 65, passed away on April 10, 2025, in Lake Mary, Florida. Born on August 22, 1959, in Marengo, Illinois, she lived a life marked by compassion, curiosity, and a deep devotion to her family and passions.

Susan pursued her academic journey with dedication, earning both her bachelor's and master's degrees in counseling from Northern Illinois University. Her love of learning never waned—at the time of her passing, she was actively working toward her doctorate in education. In addition to her academic achievements, Susan followed her culinary passion by attending Le Cordon Bleu, where she trained as a chef. Her joy for cooking and baking was not only a personal delight but also a gift she shared generously with those around her.

A woman of many interests and boundless energy, Susan found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She had a special fondness for dogs and an eye for colorful patterns—particularly those from Vera Bradley and LuLaRoe. Her love for Disney reflected her playful spirit and sense of wonder. Whether exploring new cuisines or teaching others what she had learned, Susan approached every experience with enthusiasm and warmth.

Family was at the heart of Susan’s world. She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Derek Lippold and Adam Lippold; her daughters-in-law, Marsha Lippold and Melissa Diamond; and her cherished granddaughters, Charlotte and Wilhelmina Lippold. Time spent with them brought Susan immense joy and fulfillment.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Harold Sandmann; her brother Steven Sandmann; and sisters Connie Sandmann and Lois Sandmann.

Susan’s legacy is one of kindness, lifelong learning, culinary creativity, and unwavering love for those closest to her. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
