Shirley Lee Nevins-Mickens was born October 26, 1953, in West Palm Beach, Florida, to Mary Nevins
and Charlie Nevins. She attended Phillis Wheatley School.

She is survived by: husband, Tony Mickens; daughter,
Le’Tonya Mickens (Paul); sister, Barbara Inmon; brother,
Robert (Teresa) Nevins; brothers-in-law, Bert Kenely,
John Mickens, and Willie Blanton; sister-in-law, Sammie
(George) Toney; special nieces, Melodie (Robert) Flowers
and Shelene Blanton; grandchildren, La’Chavious Clark,
Derrick Clark, Ja’Shard Jackson, Kimora Rutland, and
Paige Glover; great-grandchildren, Jordan Clark, Cayden
Jackson, and Jael Monroe; and a host of nieces, nephews,
cousins, and sorrowing family and friends.
