Schenita Swift Obituary

Schenita “NitaBug” Latoria Swift was born March 6, 1979 in Orlando, FL.  Schenita was the seventh of eight children to Eugene Sr and Kay Swift.  Schenita was raised on 13th Street in Apopka, FL with her seven siblings back when there were dirt roads and orange groves.  At an early age Schenita had charisma that made people fall in love with her.  She loved to play, have a great time and make everyone laugh.  She was quite the entertainer and would steal the show with her charming personality.

Schenita attended Phyllis Wheatley Elementary School, Piedmont Lakes Middle School and Apopka High School.  Early in her career she worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) where she worked her way up to management.  After

leaving KFC she attended Everest College in Orlando, FL, where she obtained her associate degree in Criminal Justice.  Additionally, she later obtained a Class D Licensure.

She has extensive retail and food service experience and was employed at Griffin’s General Store for the past eleven years.  Over the years, she pursued other endeavors but

always remained at Griffin’s because she loved connecting with the community. It brought her immense joy to touch the lives of people the she knew and loved.

In addition to being a hardworking professional, Schenita was most proud of being a loving mother, grandmother,

sister, aunt, and friend.  Enjoying life and having a good was very important to Schenita – she was an excellent cook, a fun host and a fashionista in her own right.

Schenita is preceded in death by her mother, Kay Frances Miller Swift. And brother, Ezra Swift, deceased.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Fiancé: Lee Burton; Three daughters: Miya Swift (Janisia)- Tampa, FL, Maaliyah Harris - Orlando, FL and  Makiyah Harris - Apopka, FL; One Grandchild - D’Lylah Dean - Orlando, FL; Father: Eugene Swift Sr. - Apopka, FL; Siblings: Secret Williams (Kenley) of Mt.
