Sallie Mae Moss affectionately known as “Aunt Sallie” lived a life of faith, service, and family. Sallie Mae accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age until her death.
Sallie Mae Torrence Moss was born to the late Enman and Callie Mae Jones Torrence in Tangerine, Florida. To this union, three girls were born, Sallie Mae, Bessie Mae and Gertis Clyde . Aunt Sallie attended school in the Tangerine, Florida School System.
Sallie Mae married Willie J. Moss. They loved and adored each other until his death in 1982. To this union a son, William T. Moss, was born. Aunt Sallie was a Christian Hearted person who was one of the founding members of Bethel Free Methodist Church, laying one of the first bricks. She worked faithfully within the church as a Trustee, long time Stewardess, and with the Missionary Ministry until her health declined. She was a virtuous woman, a leader, and a positive influence within her family and community.
Aunt Sallie was an avid traveler especially when it came to cruising. Her travel adventures took her around the Caribbean and places in the United States. She traveled to Nassau, Freeport, St. Marteen, Martinque, Trinidad, Tobago, Barbados, Mexico, Jamaica, Aruba, Grenada, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas, Grand Cayman, Roatan Honduras, Labadee Haiti, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Biloxi, Reno, San Francisco, and Las Vegas.
Aunt Sallie fought a good fight, kept the faith, and departed this earth peacefully on April 24, 2025, at the age of 97. She was preceded in death by her husband Willie J. Moss, her granddaughter, Ziera B. Dudley, two sisters and two special brothers in- laws Bessie Mae (Frank Williams) and Gertis Clyde (Walter Hayes Sr.) a Very Special Aunt, Lucille Faulk, three Very Special Cousins, Charlene Ritter, Bobby and Mary Frances Yancy, three nephews, Donald Hayes, Walter Hayes Jr, William Hayes, and one niece, Jacquelyn Hayes Cameron.
To cherish her memories she leaves, her son, William T. Moss, two granddaughters- Zana D. Dudley, and Meah A. Moss, a great grandson, Elijah Grashen in addition to a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and a lot of Special Friends.
