Rosa Deloise Flaker was born on August 23, 1956 in Orlando, Florida, to the late Thelma Herndon-Moody and the late Albert Monford. Later in life, her mother married Doy Moody, who lovingly raised Rosa as his own.
Rosa was educated in Apopka, Florida, and was a proud graduate of Apopka Memorial High School. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Andrew Flakes, with whom she shared many years of marriage until his passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Thelma Herndan-Moody and Albert Manford; her stepfather, Doy Moody; her aunt, Martha Preston; and her cousin-in-law, Willie C. Johnson.
In her spare time, Rosa found joy in making and customizing pillows for families in the Apopka community who had experienced the loss of a loved one, offering comfort through her thoughtful and caring creations. She was a faithful member of Holy Ghost Headquarters Church, where she served diligently as Head Usher for over 40 years.
She is survived by one sister, Alma Dean Griffin (James Henry Griffin III); two daughters: LaTanya Forrest and LaQuanda Martin; five grandsons: Anthony Pringle (Shania), Anqwaun Pringle (Nydra), Aiden Pringle (Alesia Jones), Antwoun Pringle, and Nehemiah Martin; one granddaughter, Nevaeh Bass; one great grandchild, Ashton Pringle; one niece, Sahneddiya Payne (Allen Baldwin); two nephews: Samuel Payne (Jennay Payne), Quincy Payne; one great niece, Shaykaviya Smith-Lockhart (Aldolphus Lockhart); three great nephews: Maurice Howard, Antwaun Carpenter, and Shaquielle Robinson; Special Cousins: Willie Herndon (Sonya), Catherine Hill (Albert Jr.), Pauline Johnson; and a host of second cousins; a Special Best Friend, Letha Knight; and a host of relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
