Renayah L. Charles

Renayah Hamaelle Louis Charles was born on May 19, 2020, in Decatur, Georgia. On the morning of April 9, 2026, Renayah passed away following a long battle that began on May 7, 2025. She was 5 years and 11 months old.

Renayah attended preschool; she was always filled with joy whenever she set off for school. She loved beauty and jewelry; whenever she felt beautiful, she would stand in front of a mirror to admire herself. She adored singing and knew absolutely every Cocomelon song by heart.

Renayah’s favorite color was pink; her favorite foods were rice and beans served with meat, as well as spaghetti. Her favorite drink was, above all else, water—followed by smoothies and, occasionally, fruit juices. She was a child with a strong-willed personality: she did not like to be disturbed and was not fond of having her picture taken. Sometimes she would get upset with her brother because she wanted to be alone; and, at the same time, she was so happy in his company—she loved him deeply. They shared a bedroom, slept together, played together, and, most of the time, watched TV side by side.

Whenever she felt the need to be close to her mom, she would enter her mom’s room singing; they would then sing a duet, and she would stay and sleep with her mom for a while. Once her need for companionship was fulfilled, she would return to her brother's room.

Thanks to these moments, we hold onto tangible memories of her and of the love she bore for those around her.
