A TIME TO BE BORN Brother Preston I. Gunn, Sr., was born April 20, 1953, to loving parents, Preston and Sallie M. Gunn.

A TIME TO SHARE Brother Preston spent the majority of his life in Apopka, Florida, where he attended and graduated from Apopka Memorial High. His love and passion for sports drove him to play on the school’s basketball team, where he was a star player. He began his career at Sunland and later moved on to construction work. In April of 2000, Brother Preston moved to Hinesville, Georgia, where he spent the rest of his days. Early on, Brother Preston devoted his life to Christ and accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. He was an active member of Life United Pentecostal Church for over 10 years, where he was truly loved. Brother Preston was an amazing father, grandfather, and brother. He was kind, compassionate, encouraging, and uplifting. He was a very easy-going, easy-to-please man. He was a ray of sunshine in many, many people’s lives. He always had a positive attitude. Brother Preston was a truly genuine soul. Whomever he came in contact with, he touched their lives in such a positive way, and he will truly be missed. On December 27, 2021, surrounded by his loving family, Brother Preston transitioned from his earthly home to his eternal home with the Lord. Brother Preston was preceded in death by his loving parents, Preston and Sallie M. Gunn; three beautiful sisters, Carol Gunn Wiggins, Patricia Thomas, and Doris Hardnett; and two lovely brothers, Robert Simmons and Richard Gunn. He leaves to cherish his loving and sacred memories: seven beautiful children, Tiffini Gunn Johnson, Trenda Gunn, Toyea Gunn, Preston Gunn, Jr., Caprice Ghent, Davena Ghent, (a very special son-inlaw, Anthony Haynes, Sr.) Serena Gunn; sixteen grandkids, Samone Burnette, Steven Robinson, Shacoria Robinson, Sadarius Upshaw, Brittnie Gunn, Khadejah Ghent, Patrice Gunn, Deshawn, Lazarian, Preston, Trey, Nadia Elam, Isaiah Ghent, Aniya Haynes, Anthony Haynes, Jr., and Royal Bussey; five great-grandchildren; ten sisters, Rose Haynes (Henry), Mary Scott (Harold), Mozelle Gunn Hedgepeth (Dwayne), Linda Gunn, Delores McMiller (Theodis), Deborah Gibson (Roosevelt), Orstella Lewis, Deanna Fields (Tony), Antionette Hardwick (Eric), and Tabitha Howard (Gary); six brothers, Marion Gunn (Doris), Jerome Gunn (Joni), Jeffery Gunn, Tommy Lee Gunn (Linda), Ivory Lewis (Tabitha), and Carl Lewis; two very special nephews, Jerome Gunn, Jr., and Xavier Gunn; and a host of other grieving family and friends who will greatly miss him.
