With profound sadness and loving remembrance, we celebrate the life of Michael
“Mikey” Whiley Jr., who departed this life on June 3, 2026, at the age of 30.
Born on April 9, 1996, in Orlando , Florida, Michael was a cherished son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. He was born to Artisha Lowe and Robert Pew, and from the very beginning, he brought joy, laughter, and love to those around him.
Michael was known for his strength, determination, and big heart. He dreamed of building a better future not only for himself but for everyone he loved. One of his greatest aspirations was to build a family compound where all of his loved ones could live together and remain connected. Family meant everything to him, and he believed that togetherness was one of life’s greatest blessings.
Dedicated to his education and future, Michael attended Lake-Sumter State College, where he enrolled in the Construction and HVAC Program. His hard work and commitment earned him a remarkable 4.0 GPA and induction into the National Honor Society. He took pride in his accomplishments and looked forward to using his skills to create opportunities for himself and others.
Michael had a passion for music and especially loved playing the drums. Whether sharing a laugh, offering encouragement, or pursuing his dreams, he left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He wanted to make the world a better place, one step at a time, and his kindness and vision will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Michael’s life journey was not without challenges. He experienced seasons that tested his strength and character, including time spent within the correctional system. However, he refused to allow his past to define his future. Upon completing that chapter of his life, Michael embraced a new path filled with faith, purpose, and personal growth.
He became a devoted member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, where he faithfully worshipped and was baptized. His relationship with God became an important part of his life, and he found strength, guidance, and peace through his faith.
Michael embodied the love of Jesus through the way he treated others. He believed in giving people grace, compassion, and understanding regardless of their circumstances. He showed unconditional love to everyone he encountered and never hesitated to offer a helping hand, a listening ear, or words of encouragement. His heart was full of kindness, and his genuine care for others left a lasting impact on countless lives.
His testimony serves as a reminder that redemption, faith, and perseverance can transform lives. Michael’s journey was one of growth, resilience, and unwavering love, and his legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17

Though she departed before him, her memory remained close to his heart, His beloved older sister, Alissianna Sherman. we take comfort in knowing they have been reunited in eternal peace.

A Warrior Who Stood Tall Through It All
Michael faced life’s challenges with courage and resilience. Through every obstacle, he continued to stand strong, holding onto hope, faith, and love for his family. His journey reminds us that true strength is not measured by what we endure, but by how we continue to rise despite adversity.
Scripture “I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
Though Michael’s earthly journey has ended, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved him. We will remember his smile, his dreams, his music, his determination, and the love he freely shared.
