MICHAEL RAY JOHNSON
was born on September 14, 1957,
to the late Hector Ray and Marie
Brown in Plymouth, Florida.
He passed away on July 17, 2025,
in Orlando, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, Marie Brown and Hector
Ray; brother, Tommy Johnson; sister, Jackie; niece,
Michelle Johnson; and nephew, Ren Andrew.
Michael joined the military immediately after
graduating from Apopka High School as a U. S. Marine
and served at Camp LeJeune Marine Corps Base and
Quantico, Virginia, for eight years. He met and married
JoAnna Johnson in Philadelphia in 1983.
Michael loved the Lord and served him throughout his
lifetime. He was a devoted member of Temple of Faith,
where he served as a deacon, usher, and member of the
men’s choir. He was a committed servant of the church
body. He was a Boy Scout for several years, where he
enjoyed giving back to his community.
Michael had various jobs throughout his lifetime, and
most recently, he worked at Toshiba for over 15 years
until his demise.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and
beautiful wife of 43 years, JoAnna Johnson, who
remained by his side until he received his heavenly
wings; three children, Ricky Ross, Joann Ross, and
Maurice Ross (Lisa Marie); sisters, Myra and Brenda
Johnson; 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren;
special godson, DeAndre (Andy) Ilus; and a host of in laws,
nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and friends.
