Mary Johnson Obituary

Mary Louise Anderson born on June 3, 1933 in Dothan Alabama, moved to Florida early in life where she settled in the city of Apopka.

She then found love and married Hiram Johnson. They made a life together raising their children until they divorced but still remained good friends.

After retirement, Mary moved to Orlando, FL.  She was installed as a Deaconess of St. Paul A.M.E. Apopka, FL and enjoyed attending church when she could. Her other pastimes were eating fresh fish, watching her favorite TV shows while doing Word Find Puzzles, and talking junk on the telephone. Her greatest joy was seeing her great grands and having company from fellow church members, neighbors, and her dearest friend DrenaLou Turner. Anyone that spoke to Mary and asked how she was doing, knew she Always gave her signature response: “Oh I’m just holdin’”.

Mary was loved and respected by many and is no longer with us in the physical “Just holdin’” (to God’s unchanging hand.)  She is now being held in the spirit, in the hollow of His hand.

She was preceded in death by her Father: Willie  C. Hendricks, Mother: Louella Anderson  Ashley, Twin: Martha L. Sloan, Brother: William T. Ashley, Son: Michael Johnson Sr., and Daughter: Tracery Renee Johnson.

Mary leaves to cherish loving and precious memories to her Children:  John C. Harris, III (Gainesville, FL), Anthony Johnson (Gainesville, FL), Lewis Johnson (Orlando, FL), and Lanita Johnson (Winter Springs, FL); Brother: Cyrus Donald McDuffie Ashley (Lillie) of Orlando, FL; Sister: Ingrid Brantley of Orlando, FL; and A host of Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren,  Cousins, and other Sorrowing  Family and Grieving Friends who will miss her dearly.
