Marie Saintilma

Today, we gather to honor and remember the life of Marie Therese Saintilus Saintilma.

Marie Therese was born on September 9th, 1944, in Port Margot, Haiti to Antenor Saintilus Saintilma and Elicia Phenelon. She came from a family rooted in faith, resilience, and hard work. These early influences helped shape the person she would become.

Marie Therese was one of nine brothers and sisters. Marie Therese gave birth to four children Lumercia Pierre, Marie Denise Simon, Eliacine Dauphin, and Yvrose Fleurimont.

Marie Therese left behind many grandchildren and a great-grandchild, Laud, Samanie, Bach Simon, and Rodney Deronsele. Tamarre, Billy, and Gamael Dauphin. Israel, Manoah, and Sarah Fleurimont.

Marie Therese came to America in 2008. She first lived in Orlando with her daughter Marie Denise where she was a member of the Beracah 2 SDA Church. She then moved to be with her niece and nephews in the state of Delaware where she lived, worked, and died.

Marie Therese was a hard worker even up until the day of her death. She was an employee of Purdue Farms Inc., where she was loved by her coworkers.

On January 19th, 2026 Marie Therese passed away at the age of 81. She tragically lost her life after being struck by a car while crossing the street on her way to work that morning.  While her passing leaves a deep sense of loss, her life leaves behind a legacy of hard work, family, and friendship.

Today, we remember not only when was born and when she passed, but the life she lived in between — a life that mattered, a life that will not be forgotten.
