Lester Gardener Obituary

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I
have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of
righteousness which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award
to me on that day and not only to me, but also to all who have
longed for this appearing.”
2 Timothy 4:7-8
On Tuesday, March 29, 2022, our beloved father, brother,
uncle, and friend, entered into eternal peace. Mr. Lester A.
Gardener was born on September 19, 1940, to the late Mr.
Frank and Ms. Alice Gardener in Hanover Lucea, Jamaica.
Lester journeyed this way to the states years ago, and he
decided that Florida would be home. As he worked various
positions, he decided to join his brother living in Apopka, FL.
Soon afterwards, he met his soulmate and best friend, Mrs.
Vianne Simmons. They eventually took a liking to one
another, and they became inseparable. He was charmed by her
beautiful smile and fell in love with her cooking. She knew a
way to a man’s heart was through his stomach. Lester charmed
her with his dancing and ambitious way. In 1977, they decided
to tie the knot and became one. Along their journey of love,
two amazing children were born. Lester worked as a cement
Finisher for Florida Concrete Pipe in Astatula, FL. After 34
years of service, he retired in 2012. He then enjoyed life by
fishing, watching wrestling, and spending time with his family
and friends. He was a member of Orlando West Ministries,
and he attended faithfully until becoming ill. Nevertheless,
his faith in the Lord remained strong in his final moments.
Mr. Lester was preceded in death by: his wife, Ms. Vianne S.
Gardener, sons, Lester A. Gardener, Jr., and Orrett Gardener,
brother, Wesley Gardener, and sister, Eva Patterson of London,
England.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his daughters, Mrs. Dervel
G. Edwards of Toronto, Ontario, and Sandra D. Gardener
of Apopka, Florida; son, Desmond Gardener of Canada;
brother, Arthur Marshall (Coretha); sisters, Ednie Spence,
Lisa Hawthorne, Hazel, and Lucille; brothers-in-law, Larry
L. Simmons and Willie Jackson, both of Apopka, FL; sisters-
in-law, Lillie Bell Simmons, Barbara J. Jackson, and Gloria
Simmons, all of Apopka, FL; grandchildren, Nathan Gardener,
Kadesha James Gardener, Kal Edwards, Quimara Gardener,
Khalia Gardener, Narada Gardener, Orrett Gardener, Jr.,
Jadia Gardener, Dan Gardener, and a host of other relatives
and friends.
He stated, “don’t worry, be happy”, which is a wonderful
testament of his love for everyone.
