LeSha Barnes-Clark Obituary

Lesha Lynett Barnes was born to Mason and Barbara Barnes on July 14, 1975. She was a beautiful baby
and had a smile carved by the angels themselves. She was the second of four children and just shy of her 48th
birthday before her passing.
Lesha was the family advisor and consultant, and she didn’t have an issue speaking her mind. She loved her
purses, shoes, and no one could beat her shopping. Fashion was her thing; when it came to having fun, she was
always going to be the first one in line to “Get in that car and mash that gas,” and you were going to get out of the way
and let Lesha pass. “Black Gal” was a family diamond, and she is going to forever be missed. She was a big-hearted
person who would give you her last.
Lesha was part of the class of 1993 from Apopka High School. She was a track star, well-known by her fellow
classmates. It was during her post-graduation years that she became a member of the Publix family. Lesha
worked faithfully and diligently for a total of 31 years until she gained her wings. She started at store number 501,
transferring to store number 761, and finally store number 542 from where she intended to retire. Lesha was a
member of New Life Pentecostal Church under the leadership of Elder Mason and Barbara Barnes, and there she
remained until she passed into the eternal love of God.
Lesha Lynett Barnes departed this life on Sunday, May 7, 2023. She was preceded in death by her sister, Tangela
Barnes; maternal grandmother, Allean Woods; maternal grandfather, James Harris; paternal grandmother,
Jennie Marlow; paternal grandfather, Jeffie Lee; and mother-in-law, Cora Jones.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her devoted, caring, and loving husband of 23 years, Fitzgerald Clark; two
daughters, Tarelsha Barnes (Daniel) and Takiyla Clark; son, TeQuavious Barnes; grandson who she adored,
Legend Addison; parents, Mason and Barbara Barnes; three sisters, Siteria Woods, Monica Barnes-Carter (Chris),
and Felicia Young (Israel); sister-in-law, Ora Campbell (Jeff); brother-in-law, Otis Clark, Jr.; special niece, D’Zian
Barnes; bonus sisters, Rhonda Smothers (Sam), Clarice Hernandez (Darrell), and many godsisters; children in
love, Tamara Woodson (Bruce), Ivory, Kelly, Dontay, and Deelois; along with many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
It’s very rare that we find true friends in this walk of life, but Lesha found one and she honored the relationship
as if she was more than a friend—she was also a sister. Her name is Shantinette Smith (Thomas). She and Lesha
shared an unwavering sisterly bond for over 42 years.
Today we celebrate the life and legacy of Lesha Lynett Barnes. As you sit and think of all the wonderful memories
you have of her, take special note in your hearts to never forget the love and genuine character that remains within
us that will forever glow in her memory. We love you forever and always, Black Gal. We will see you later.
