Joseph F. Fadael was born in Coutete, Haiti, on 23 September, 1934, to Dieujuste and Elemie Fadael. He was the youngest of his mother's children, who died when he was young, and one of ten children in total.
He married his wife, Manièce Fadael (née Innocent), in September of 1964, with whom he raised 5 children: Ruth, Fadette, Colin, Marie-Lourde, and Jonathan.
Joseph, better known as Mèt Fada to his many students, was a professor in Haiti for many years. He will be honored and remembered as a paragon of Haitian excellence: a diligent laborer with experience cultivating the land, and a virtuous man of faith who gave his all for the well-being and edification of his family, students, and colleagues.
On 5 March, 2025, full of years at 90 years old, and content with what he had seen and accomplished, Joseph peacefully left the arms of his loved ones in the home in Apopka where he lived for over 20 years to take his place in heaven. He will always be missed.
He is survived by his wife, Manièce; his 5 children; 17 grandchildren; 3 siblings: Cius, Dieudimeme, and Germanie; 43 nieces and nephews; as well as numerous cousins, students, and friends.
