Jerome Brown, Jr Obituary

With heavy hearts and steadfast faith, we announce the homegoing of our beloved Jerome Brown, Jr., a devoted husband, loving father, cherished family member and humble servant of God, who peacefully entered eternal rest on Wednesday, January 22, 2025.

Jerome was born on December 9, 1952, in Orlando, Florida, to parents, Jerome Brown, Sr. and Hazel Elise Brown. He was raised in a LOVING home with his siblings, Henry and Valarie. His parents instilled Christian values and strong work habits in the three of them.

Jerome attended Charles R. Drew from elementary through 10th grade. The following school year, Jerome attended Ocoee High School for 11th and 12th grade. He was a star football player for both schools, when he earned the nickname, “Tiny.” He graduated from Ocoee High School in the Class of 1971. he continued his love of football, playing with the Orlando

Cyclones (later changed to Northwestern) from 1972-1973, still at the top of his game.

Jerome was a man who walked closely with the Lord, embodying Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.” His life was a reflection of his unwavering faith, and his dedication to living out God’s word.

He was a steadfast husband to his wife, Valerie Brown, mourning the love described in Ephesians 5:25, “Husband, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church the church and gave himself up for her. Together they built a home rooted in faith, love, and unity, blessing all who entered their doors.

As a father, he was a living example of Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.” His children will forever cherish his

wisdom, guidance and the lessons he imparted, not just through words but through his actions. He was a faithful member in the church until he was no longer able to attend. He continued living out Matthew 5:16,” Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” he was chief for fifteen years and a machinist for ten years. His presence was a blessing to the community, where he coached softball for over twenty-five years.

Throughout his life he exemplified the virtues of Galatians 5:22-23: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. He was a source of strength and encouragement to all who knew him and his legacy of faith nd love will endure for generations to come.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Jerome Brown, Sr.; his Mother, Hazel Elise Brown; his Brother, Henry Lee Brown; and many other loving relatives.

He leaves behind cherished memories with his Devoted Wife of 45 years, Valeric Brown; Children: Nedra Henry (Henry), Kiyarda Brown, and Chatovia Brown; Grandchildren: Shonta Majors, Jermarius Graves, Artreyvus Graves, Keirra Seraphin, Adlie Sherapin, Jr., and Anessa Henry; Sister: Valerie Brown; Mother-in-law, Lunette Barnum; Special Nieces: Maiesha
