" Today, we gather not only to mourn, but to celebrate the life of Jamique Shaquille Nathaniel Thompson. Jamique was born on May 21, 1996, in Orlando, Florida, to his loving parents, Deon Thompson and Norlethia Young. From the very beginning, Jamique lived with purpose, passion, and a heart full of love.
Jamique was truly full of life. His energy, smile, and presence could light up any room. He was a loving and encouraging person, always motivating others to keep going, dream bigger, and believe in themselves. He had a way of speaking life into people, and that gift will never be forgotten.
A proud graduate of Evans High School, Jamique carried the lessons of resilience, determination, and strength with him into every chapter of his life. He also had a business mind like no other—creative, driven, and always thinking ahead. Jamique was not afraid to work hard or pursue his goals, and his ambition inspired many around him.
Jamique leaves behind a loving family, including his siblings, aunties, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who cherished him deeply. Though his time here feels too short, the impact of his life is immeasurable. His legacy lives on in every person he encouraged and every heart he touched.
The Bible reminds us in Psalm 118:24, “This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Even in our sorrow, we choose to rejoice for a life that brought joy to so many.
We are comforted by 2 Corinthians 5:8, which says, “To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.” Jamique is now resting in God’s presence—free, whole, and at peace.
And as Ecclesiastes 3:1–2 tells us, “To everything there is a season… a time to be born, and a time to die.” Jamique fulfilled his season with love, strength, and purpose.
So today, we celebrate Jamique—his laughter, his vision, his encouragement, and his heart. Though we will miss him dearly, his spirit lives on, his love remains, and his memory will forever be a blessing.
Jamique, we honor you. We celebrate you. And we will carry you with us always."
