ELDER JAMES “TED” JOHNSON was born on January 20, 1941, in Russell County, Alabama to Mr. Jimmie Johnson and Mrs. Irine Moses-Johnson. His parents and siblings preceded him in death: Jimmie Lee Johnson, Willie Johnson, Scottie Bell Tolbert, Aaron Johnson, Eula Johnson, Fannie Johnson, Gladys Banks, and Andrew Johnson.
Elder James Johnson was educated in Alabama, where he was taught to work hard and take care of his family at a young age. Later in life, he would move to Orlando, Florida and meet his lovely wife of 58 years, Wilma D. Harvis-Johnson. They then became members of Full Deliverance Church of Jesus, under the leadership of Bishop Woody Freeman and Lady Ella Freeman, where he became not only a faithful servant to the Lord but also a close friend to Bishop Freeman and his family.
If asked, Elder Johnson would help anyone no matter the situation. He loved his family, no matter how near or far they were. His sayings were: “Hey there, fella” and “I love all y’all.”
He is survived by: his wife, Wilma D. Johnson “Strawberry”; daughter, Annette Johnson; grandchildren, Nicholas Brown (Nicole Garcia) and Kayla Devontenno; great-grandchild, Nicolai Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
