Henry Eugene “Short Dogg” Weatherspoon Jr. was born on August 22, 1965, in Eustis, Florida, to Gloria Weatherspoon (deceased) and Henry Eugene Weatherspoon Sr. (deceased). He resided in Umatilla, Florida, where he attended Umatilla Elementary, Umatilla Middle, and Umatilla High School.
On January 24, 1992, Henry married the love of his life, Darla Ann Harris, of 33 years. He was also the owner and operator of H&H Trucking, Umatilla, Florida.
On October 14, 2025, Henry passed away peacefully surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife: Darla Ann Weatherspoon of Umatilla, FL; 3 Children: Shauntae, Henry and Latoya Weatherspoon, all of Umatilla, FL; sister, Sharonda Strokus (Matthew) of Umatilla, FL; mother-in-law, Vera Harris of Mt. Dora, FL; sisters-in-law: Jessie Mae Williams of Mt. Dora, FL, Estelle Tumer (deceased); Mary Harris of Eustis, FL, and Dorothy Solomon of Umatilla, Florida; brothers-in-law: Andrew Williams and Willie Jackson (both deceased), Albert Harris and Kenny Tumer, of Mt. Dora, FL; 3 Grandchildren: Deniah Carthers, Cayden Weatherspoon, and Troy Nix; 4 godchildren: Tyler Hutto, Jar’Linda Smith, Christian Simmons, and Kiara Small; uncles: James Weatherspoon (Lena) of Eustis, FL, Bernard
