Gloria Pinnock Obituary

Gloria H. Pinnock, known fondly as “Dotty,” is the first of three children blessed to Nicanah Pinnock and Ophelia Nicholas. She entered into this world on August 9, 1939 in Wakefield, Buxton Town, St. Catherine, Jamaica.

She was introduced and exposed to various new and

exciting endeavors by her aunt-in-law, Jasmine James, in Tryall Hill, St. Mary. She settled in Kingston with the

family where her path to new adventures began.

Gloria always placed family first, which led to her

migrating from Jamaica to the Bahamas and finally to Evanston, IL. She often sacrificed her own needs to

ensure that the needs of family members, friends and sometimes strangers were met. She was truly the giver that gave selflessly.

She wasn't known as the most active person you may have known, but her best friend Audrey (who deserved the title to the end since the 70's) and some of us joked that shopping for herself and definitely others was her hobby.

Gloria is being celebrated by her Daughters: Naddeen and Rose. She was also the doting Grandmother to

Kenisha, Nico and Christopher; Great Grandmother to

Brianna, Keshawn, Satavia, Zayriah and Kyrie; and Great-Great Grandmother to Kingston. Her only surviving sibling is Millicent (Sadie). Gloria is preceded in death by her parents and her middle sister, Agerlena (Dolly).

She was loved by an abundance of nieces, nephews, and many friends while she was among us. But...it was time for her to move on and share her over-the-top heart as God deems fit.
