Gloria Dunkley

Gloria “Yaya” Dunkley was born April 30, 1941 in Portland, Jamaica. She was the first of 12 children born to Olga Arthur. The majority of her years were spent in Jamaica where she worked as a caregiver for a number of different families. Gloria migrated to the United States of America in 2015 to live with her daughter Elaine where she became a member of Fresh Oil Ministries Church of God. Under the leadership of Bishop Richard D. Notice. During this time her family grew bigger as she became a mother and friend to different members of the church.

Gloria devoted herself to her children, grandchildren, family, and friends. She is preceded in death by her daughter (Norma Mitchell-Bucham). Left to cherish her beautiful spirit are her children Carol Campbell, Elaine E. Campbell, Carline Campbell, Dionne A. Mitchell Archer, Denham A. King and Barrington Ming; 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; a host of loving nieces, nephews, relatives, church family and friends.

Above all things Gloria was a godly woman who loved the Lord and one of her favorite scriptures was Psalms 23.

“The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.”

Well done Yaya “sweet girl” your work here is over. You are free to dance with the Lord. Watch over us you will be missed.
