Fannie Muriel Johnson was born on July 4, 1943, to the late Cornelius (Neal) and Lucille Mount Ware in Tallassee. While living in Alabama, she graduated from Molton High School. Affectionately known to many as Muriel, she carried herself with grace, strength, and warmth throughout her life.
As a young woman, Muriel began working as a cafeteria cook at Apopka Middle School, where she dedicated 18 years of service before retiring. She was known for her spicy personality and her ability to uplift others with her words and presence.
Muriel found joy in the simple pleasures of life—she loved fishing, sewing, and preparing delicious meals for her family and loved ones. Known for her generosity, she often cooked and shared meals with members of her community, always willing to serve those in need.
She was united in marriage to John H. Johnson, and together they shared 63 years of love and companionship. Their union was blessed with one daughter, Antoinette Coleman (Joe), and a beloved son, Dwyane Ware. Fannie was preceded in death by her daughter, Antoinette Coleman.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted husband, John H. Johnson; her son, Dwyane Ware; three grandchildren, Courtney Montfort, Shardae Montfort, and Cornelius Dwyane Ware Jr.; and five great-grandchildren.
Her life was a reflection of love, service, and strength—she will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
