Elder Dr. Leroy Brown, Jr. Obituary

Leroy Louis Brown, Jr. was born March 28, 1950 to Mary
and Leroy Brown, Sr. in Brooksville, Florida. He was the oldest of 6
children born of this union, and was affectionately called Peedrow.
He attended Hernando county public schools and graduated from
Moten High School in Brooksville, Florida in 1968. He moved to
Orlando, Florida where he resided until his passing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elder Leroy Brown, Sr. and
his sister, Minister Audrey Brown-McGee.
He was employed by David M. Company in Orlando, Florida for
22 years prior to retiring as a Supervisor. He worked as a custodian
for Orange County Public Schools for 4 years. Leroy later worked as
an independent contractor alongside his brother in the commercial
drapery field for 10 years. After retiring, he devoted himself to the
ministry full-time.
He received his degree in Theology at International Seminary in 1985.
On June 16, 2019 Elder Dr. Leroy Brown, Jr. received his honorary
doctorate from Trinity Theological Seminary of South Florida.
Over the years Elder Leroy served in many capacities in the Church of
the Living God; as a Deacon, District Sunday School Superintendent,
Youth Minister, Associate Pastor, Pastor, and District Elder. He
served faithfully under Pastor (Mother) Willie Crocker at National
Tabernacle Church of the Living God. In 1999, he began serving
as Assistant Pastor at Jehovah Temple Church of the Living God.
Through God’s mentorship he was able to carry the mantle that would
one day be placed in his hands. In 2003, Elder Brown was appointed
Assistant Pastor of United Open Door Church of the Living God and
ministered alongside his father, the late Elder Leroy Brown, Sr. until
his transition. The mantle was passed to him, and he served faithfully
as Pastor for over 17 years, under the leadership of Bishop Theodore
Brown, and Apostle, Dr. Carlton Williams.
Elder Leroy exemplified by words and actions what it meant to be
a true soldier for the Lord. He was a faithful and dedicated Pastor,
Teacher, Mentor, and an Encourager to all who knew him. He was a
man of God who boldly proclaimed the word of God. His ministry
impacted many lives and left an indelible mark on those who knew
and loved him.
He leaves to mourn his passing his loving and devoted wife of 36
