Clercina Augustine Obituary

Clercina Charles Erné was born on May 1, 1931 to the late Cimilien Erné and Mia Charles in Nancarré, Haiti.  She went to l’ecole Nationale of Nancarre, Haiti.

At the age of 23, she moved to Savanne Platte where she met her late husband Augustin Petit Louis. They fell in love and started a family. She worked as a farmer, gardener and a seller.  She devoted her life to Christ in 1970 at the church of Nanmassak. She moved to Anse-Rouge, Haiti in the early ’80s and then emigrated to the U.S on December 1, 2001. She visited and spend significant times back and forth with her children in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 2003 where she attended GR west church of the Nazarene, in West Palm Beach and  Orlando, FL where she attended Eglise de Dieu Missionaire. She was an active church member and attended service every Sunday. She loved to dance and worship the Lord. She became a US citizen in August 2017.

She had been on a life journey with her late Husband Augustin Petit Louis for 59 years and they were married for 31 years until he passed away on May 8, 2012.

Clercina was a devoted wife and mother of 9 children and 38 grandchildren whom she loved dearly.  From an early age, she taught her children to always be patient and the meaning of hard work. She was an avid believer in education and pursuing your dreams. She encouraged her children to go to college and live an abundant life.

On June 14, 2020 Clercina was hospitalized at El Central Hospital due to myocardial infarction, which left her paralyzed and unable to communicate with anyone. Due to the prognosis of her health, she was transferred to a nearby hospice.

Clercina was the epitome of a god-fearing woman and her faith in God was bigger than her disease. Her children did all that was possible to help her fight through it. Although the physicians did all they could, on July 10, 2020, God had called her home.
