Charlie Washington Obituary

Charlie Washington departed this life on June 3rd, 2021 in Winter Garden, FL. He was the son of the late George Washington and Rebecca Green Washington.  He was a graduate of Hopkins High School in Hopkins, South Carolina.

Charlie worked the majority of his life as a construction worker in the New Jersey tri-state area where he was a proud member of Locals 3 & 4. Eventually, he opened his own business, C. Washington & Son,  alongside his late son, Charles Washington, Jr.  After retiring, he relocated to NC where he resided with his daughter and his grandchildren. Jaida, Jerai, and Gavin were devoted to helping take care of their "Grandpop" for the past 13 years and cherished him as the great man he showed them he was. To be in his presence was a blessing as he always met everyone with a gentle and kind spirit. Charlie was the true epitome of a generous person as he loved everyone and family was always at the top of his list!

Charlie was preceded in death by His Son: Charles Washington, Jr.; Three Sisters: Sarah Bruce, Alberta Scott, and Rebecca "Boo" Washington; Five Brothers: Sam Washington, George Washington, Leroy Washington, Albert Washington, and Eddie Washington; and One Beloved Nephew, who was like a brother: Clarence Washington.

Charlie leaves to cherish memories to Loving Wife: Doris Washington; Four Daughters: Wanda Davis, Rena Johnson, Cara Washington, and Greatha Washington; One Brother: Joseph Washington (Ethel); One Sister: Naomi Moore;  Fifteen Grandchildren; Thirteen Great-Grandchildren; and a host of Nieces, Nephews, other Sorrowing Family and  Grieving Friends who will miss him dearly.
