Calvin Watkins Obituary

Mr. Calvin Bernard Watkins was born on April 7, 1968, to the proud parents, Charles J. Stubblefield (Deceased) and Betty Jean Watkins in Monroe, Louisiana. He was the third oldest of five children. He was known for his friendly smile, his big heart, and being a caring person. His family and friends affectionately called him “Watdawg”.

Mr. Calvin was a loving person to everyone he met. He knew the Lord and had accepted Him into his life as his Lord and Savior. He loved his family and enjoyed being with his mom, brothers and sister, and nieces and nephews. As you can see, he was a diehard Pittsburg Steeler fan. My brother Calvin and I (Donald Toldson) once had a discussion, I said, “Calvin, do you want me to buy you a Denver Bronco jersey? He said, “Yes, I need something to wipe my butt with…Lol.” He always had a sense of humor. He was his grandmother’s (Irene William-Watkins) angel and best friend as he took care of her until her death.

Calvin was a graduate of Reuben McCall Senior High School in Tallulah, Louisiana where he graduated with honors. He continued his education attending Northeast Louisiana University which was later changed to the University of Louisiana Monroe in Monroe Louisiana. While there, he graduated with honors and received his Bachelor’s degree in both Business Administration and Pre-Law. In addition, he was the family historian and walking encyclopedia for his family, friends, and classmates.

Calvin Bernard Watkins departed this life on August 28, 2021. He will be greatly missed by his mom, brothers and sister, nieces and nephews, relatives and so many classmates and friends in his beloved hometown Tallulah, Louisiana. He was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measures. He was preceded in death by his father Charles J. Stubblefield and his grandparents Isiah Watkins, Sr., and Irene Watkins.

Mr. Calvin Bernard Watkins leaves to cherish his loving memory, his Beloved Mom: Betty Jean Watkins-Toldson of Ocoee, Florida; Brother: Vincent Benae Toldson of Orlando, Florida; Brother Donald Dontae Toldson, Sr. of Clermont, Florida; Brother: Brian Keith Toldson of New Orleans,       Louisiana; Sister: Dana Deshun Toldson-Williams of Orlando, Florida; Brother: Michael Stubblefield of Zachery, Louisiana; Brother: Charles Stubblefield of Dallas, Texas; Brother: Cedric Williams of Tallulah, Louisiana; and a host of Nieces, Nephews, other Sorrowing Family and Friends who will miss him dearly.
