Johnny Lee McDonald, affectionately known as “Jeff” or “Uncle Bo” was born in Lake City, FL on July 27, 1944 to the late Nettie and Roscoe McDonald.
He was raised in the small country town of Bunnell, FL. Uncle Bo had an entrepreneur spirit from a very young age. He would cut lawns for a living, as well as other job. He was always willing to give a helping hand for anyone that needed him. When Uncle Bo became an adult he moved to Melbourne, FL to be close to some of his family members that had migrated there before him. Melbourne became his home however Uncle Bo enjoyed traveling. Oftentimes, it would be an episode of “Where I the World is Uncle Bo?” this week. He would let his imagination lead him to many destinations all over the country. From a very young age, Uncle Bo had a flair for fashion. When it was time to put on his Sunday Best, you better believe he was “Dressed to Kill” from head to toe. Even if he had on a pair of pressed jeans or a sharp 3 piece suit with a bow tie. Uncle Bo would always finish out his outfit with a ball cap or a Kangol. Uncle Bo had a true love for his family and friends. Especially, the little children. His nieces and nephews were his heart! Uncle Bo never met a stranger because he showed himself “friendly” to all that crossed his path. Uncle Bo transitioned on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Atlantic Shores Nursing Home & Rehab Center in Melbourne, FL under Vitas Hospice Care with his family by his side. Uncle Bo will be loved and missed by many.
