Edith Irizarry -Perez "Gladys" of Orlando Florida, passed away Monday, January 22nd, 2018. She was a faithful member of the Presbyterian Church since her early years.
Born in Manhattan during the Great Depression, She was the daughter of Herminia Pagan and Roman Irizarry of Cabo Rojo Puerto Rico. Survived by her Loving Children: Jeannette, Enilda, Leslie, Elsita, Ivonne and Israel. Loved by her grand and great grand children: Leslie Ann, Andres, Christopher, Ivonne Marie, Paulette, Amy, Abrianna, Drew, Aiden, Christian, Derek and little Kathy.
Gladys was an example of great humanity to all she met . Her undivided love for her children and family was shown through each kind word of wisdom and encouragement. Gladys saw the best in everyone and she always placed herself second to the needs of her loved ones.
As our matriarch She was instrumental in the return of our family to the United States; a place that she loved as a child and the place that became home to the next three generations.
As a wife and mother, she was warm, faithful, and devoted. Gladys was an example of how someone is able to share love equally to each person surrounding her.
As a woman, although she was soft spoken, she was smart, strong, and accomplished. After years of a difficult childhood she overcame poverty and illness to finish her studies, became a teacher, earning a degree in early childhood education, and joining the ranks of working Women for 40 years.
As an elder, she was a Wife, Mom, Sister, Grandmother, great friend, volunteer, advocate to the aging community, and a leader of her Church.
Now she sits to the right of our God looking over us and making sure that we know that her love and presence will always be with us.
A Memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at El Redentor Presbyterian Church Located at 6971 Red Bug Lake Road, Oviedo, Florida 32765 on Saturday February 3rd, 2018 at 11:00
