On August 7, 1955, in Belle Glades, Florida Robert Sr., and Janie Lee Norton became the proud parents of Devora Jean Norton, the first of three children to their union. Each day is filled with expectant joy and unlimited possibilities.
Devora graduated from Edgewater High School in Orlando, Florida in 1975. She attended Valencia College in Orlando, Florida for several years and then transferred to Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida where she majored in Criminal Justice for 5 years. Devora began her career as a Counselor at Children Home Society where she retired in the early 1980’s. She then return to work for Orange County School Board as a Teacher Assistant for the Handicap Children until the early 2000’s where she retired again. Devora accepted Christ as her personal Savior at the age of 18. She attended several churches but joined God Healing International Ministries in Orlando, Florida under the leadership of Bishop A. L. Jones where she served as the Mother of the church so faithfully and worked on the Evangelism Department until God called her home. Devora had a passion for studying the word and a deep desire for a closer walk with the Lord and for others to have the same relationship as she had with God to. Her earthly Life has come to a close on Monday, June 18th, 2018 at Apopka Memorial Hospital in Apopka, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her Father: Robert Lee Norton Sr., Grandparents: James and Octiva Jackson and her Brother: Michael B. Norton.
Devora leave to cherish and treasure her precious memories her Four Children: Joshua, Gabrielle Norton, Terry and Terrell Norton Williams all of Orlando, FL; Three Grandchildren: Cynora Vaughn, Jordan McMullen and Jacob Norton all of Orlando, FL; Beloved Mother: Janie Lee Thomas of Orlando, FL; Loving Brother: Robert Lee Norton Jr of Lakeland, FL; Three Nieces: Anderia Anderson of Orlando, FL, Celena Royster of Atlanta, GA and Raylisha Dixon of St. Petersburg, FL; Two Nephews: Derrick Anderson (Avis) of Orlando, FL and Robert Lee Norton III of St. Petersburg, FL; Two Aunts: Josephine Hollinger and Betty Jackson both of Orlando, FL; Uncle: Vernon Jackson of Orlando, FL; And a host of grand nieces, nieces cousins, relatives and friends. Devora was loved and respected by so many she came in contact with throughout her Life as a friend, teacher, mentor and most of all, A SERVANT OF THE LORD.
