Cicely Lucien Mullings was born on the 21st of June 1924 in Stanmore, St. Elizabeth, to Christiana Findley and Walter Mullings. She grew up with her many brothers and sisters, attended St. Albans Primary School, and Stanmore Anglican Church where she was an active member
On leaving school, she went to live with her brother Milton in Kingston. While in Kingston, she was trained as a seamstress and learned the craft of knitting, at which she was extremely proficient. On one of her trips back home she went to visit her cousin Luna in Westmorland, where she met Eardley Gammon who completely swept her off her feet.
The couple returned to Kingston where he was employed to an oil exploration company. After the company closed, they returned to Westmorland where she expanded her family while working on her craft. Her skills allowed her to help provide for her family by working tirelessly at her sewing machine and providing the latest fashions for those in the community. Her repertoire of clients included high profile business people and celebrities.
"Cissy", as she was affectionately called, was very fond older movies, with her favorite actor being Sidney Poitier. She was an ardent reader, with a good memory of poetry and Bible verses from childhood. She was a very creative and good cook, who enjoyed making a variety of desserts for her family and others. Cicely instilled the values of the need to serve the Lord in her children and grandchildren from a young age, with her and her husband being examples and regularly attending church. She strived very hard to ensure all her children had a good education and would spend her last to ensue this, even if it meant sewing all night. She was very family oriented, bringing her children back home to visit family in her hometown. She was also a mother to many in the community, and it was a joy for her to assist mothers in keeping their sick children so they could go to work.
Cicely migrated to the United States in 2001 to live with her daughters in Florida. She attended the Seventh Day Adventist Church and loved the fellowship. In 2008, she accepted the Adventist message and continued with her strong faith and frequent prayer life.
She was preceded by her Husband: Eardley, and Sons: David, Robert and Joel.
Cicely leaves to love and cherish her memories her Five Children: Peter, Linda, Paul, Shirlyn and Noel, 21 Grandchildren, and 14 Great-Grandchildren; and a host of other Loving Family and Grieving Friends.
